Был описан Ван-Валеном как Bomburia :59, но название оказалось преоккупировано осой-птеромалидой, и его пришлось менять.
Ситуация долго была не урегулирована, в том числе и потому, что оба омонима были опубликованы в одном и том же 1978 году, и вопрос об их старшинстве требовал отдельного изучения. В 2005 г. я даже писал об этой проблеме Ван-Валену, и получил от него очень милый ответ:
Dear Dr. Vinogradov,
I did indeed receive your earlier email, and I thank you both for calling the problem to my attention and for reminding me of it. Earlier I wasn't able to find the source of the other Bomburia, and put the matter aside until I got a better idea. I've now managed to find a recent checklist by the author and will see if it is listed there. And the paper should give his address also, if necessary. Progress, perhaps.
