History of Prague

The core of Prague‘s future agglomeration began gradually to take shape between the 8th and 10th century on the left bank of the River Vltava around the area of Prague Castle and the Lesser Town. Evidence of settlement in the Lesser Town goes back to the end of the 8th century.
